When the sun is setting, the orange sun can shine onto the underside of the swifts and reflect off their feathers. You can see the lighter patch under their chin also catching the light. When they fly together in a screaming party, they are very reminiscent of our famous RAF formation team; So here are the 9 Red Arrows from tonight’s aerial display!

It’s very hard to photograph them at the best of times! They are moving at 30-40mph. If you have any good photographs of swifts, we would like to publish them here, with your deserved attribution.
