Tracking down all current nesting sites and monitoring new ones is an annual activity. We are lucky that these observations can be collated in a mapping app that has been set up specifically for swifts. It’s called “Swift Mapper” and is available from your app store. Anyone can use the app.
We welcome anyone interested in doing some spotting and recording to take part. If anyone from a local bird watching organisation would be interested, please get in contact.
I find Swift Mapper useful when travelling too, to see what’s happening in other regions, and maybe check in on some existing swift communities.
